Our History
Our Museum started out as Newport Academy. Built in 1847 by Eber Brock Ward for his sister Emily Ward. It originally was located on the North West corner of S. Main St. and Washington St. At the time, Marine City was still called Newport.
The building was moved to its current location at 405 S Main in 1870.
Since then it has been used as the Village Hall, Police Station, Church, Red Cross, Elementary School, Library, and finally the Marine City Museum in 1983.
